Want Gorgeous Skin In A Bottle? Look No Further

When it comes to finding a foundation that performs in the way you need it to, finding 'the one' can be a daunting task! As I have always said on my channel and in previous posts I never just stick to one foundation, I like to switch things up based on the desired look I want to achieve. Locating a great everyday foundation can be difficult especially since everyone and their mum have varying opinions on what constitutes the 'ideal base'  I think the main thing to establish is what kind of complexion you want to achieve and also what your skin needs are..hydration,coverage, anti ageing etc!

Because the 'beauty world' on Youtube seems to have exploded in the last 7 years and also that people have access to blogs like this one, it can take some of that pressure off. People seem to be a lot more informed than they used to be and that makes people more confident in selecting a foundation which means your not stuck with a product that you won't use.

Even though the shelves are packed with a thousand and one choices I think it is possible to choose a great 'all rounder' when it comes to foundation. Today's hot topic is just that, if you are looking for a foundation that looks natural whilst providing great coverage and feeling light and pleasant to wear..then you could do a lot worse than this one.

The Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect Foundation has actually been out for some years (and yes I am kind of late to the party on this one) but it caught my eye one day whilst shopping in Superdrug so I decided to finally pick it up,  I am so happy I did...here are my notes.....

Boots Botanics Skincare Range

My skin is a country mile away from 'perfect'. For as long as I can remember I have always had trouble with blemishes and in some cases I would go as far to say 'acne prone' was the only way I could describe my skin type. I always felt like eventually I would out-grow it and my skin would settle down but here I am about to reach my 30s (As id saying goodbye to my 20s isn't traumatic enough) and I am still getting hefty breakouts. Although I have learned how to prevent, manage and conceal them, from time to time I do still get the odd hormonal breakout. So I though I would share one of my favourite ways to banish them.

The Highlights Of My Life

Give This Bronzing BB Cream A 'Glow'....You Will Love It

Sorry it's been a couple of weeks guys, I have had a few family things to attend to so it has been a much busier month than normal, but I am back and wanted to share what I consider to be a 'life hack' when it comes to getting our base products summer ready.

As the warmer months approach so do all the Summer launches, coconut scented oils, cooling mists and of course self tans galore. I love self tanning as much as the next person (only EVER from a bottle) but I do often find it a struggle that with every transitional shade I seem to go to  I have to change up my foundation accordingly. This can become quite costly especially when it takes a few days for your skin to settle into your new shade (whether it is via traditional 'sun tanning' or 'fake tanning' I always seem to have a few days where my skin tone changes and then goes on to settle about 2-3 days later.

There are however a few things I try to do to make my everyday foundations work for me when I have a warmer complexion without having to go to the expense of replacing them completely.

For this I think liquid bronzers are the way forward, you can just add a few drops to your existing foundation and blend them together making a unique shade that is totally customisable to you're skin tone. I have tried quite a few liquid tanning drops / bronzers & one that I have been loving for a couple of years now is the Maybelline Dream Bronze BB...So here are my notes!

Some Want's & Some NEEDS!

When it comes to shopping for homewares or cute things for my 2 children, it has to be said that I find the whole process so exciting. I am defiantly at that stage in my life (late 20s) where I am homemaking and I am far more stimulated by my surroundings rather than what I am actually wearing (which is something I thought would never happen)

I guess its all part of that dreaded process of 'growing up' sure it's nice to go out and splurge on that gorgeous Zara bag, but as I moved house recently, I have definitely been doing a Carrie Bradshaw and "cheating on fashion with furniture' and as much as I miss going out on epic nights out I have to admit I do not miss getting off my box, walking home or to the nearest kebab shop singing How Soon Is Now.... I am comfortable staying in.....for now.

Creating a space is something I really enjoy, I think all sorts of objects, candles & soft fabrics can create a real ambiance and make you feel more comfortable in your home, it's also a great way of putting your own stamp on your place.
Even though some are not 'essentials', the things I use to make my home more cosy and inviting have definitely helped in the making of a total home body. I love chilling at home in my cashmere socks, whilst wrapped in a blanket, binge watching Harry Potter (not fully grown up just yet)

So I have a few new additions, some want's and some needs, so I thought I would share them with you.

A Moment On The Lips.....And That's All You Get!

For the record I generally really Like L'Oreal products especially their bases and lipsticks, so this whole thing has been a bit of a shock to say the least.

When the new range launched (the Sculpting, Contouring / Ombre range) I was eager to just pop it in my basket without really giving it a second thought.  I assumed they would be a 'dead cert' and I just needed an occasion the colours called for.

I had a night out coming up and I wanted to rock my signature red lip, I remembered I had these so I applied my makeup and slapped on the shade Disturbia....and believe my I was disturbed!

Grease IS The Word

Whenever a product has 'Stobe' in the title I am basically interested, Makeup Revolution are one of the hottest brands around right now and when they launched their new strobe collection I knew I had to get my little  mitts on it.

I had high hopes for these balms and I wanted to see how they compared to other similar products in their category like the Becca Cream Highlighters and a similar launch from Illamasqua (the name of the product escapes me)

Makeup Revolution is obviously way more affordable than the above mentioned brands and I love a good 'dupe'. Normally MUR highlighter products are all kinds of awesome so the bar was set and I couldn't wait to slap them on

So let's discuss my findings some good, some bad!

When "Dupes" Fail.......Miserably

I really struggled with what to name this Blog Post and after feeling defeated and uninspired I consulted with a fellow blogger & friend of mine, Alice Red to be exact, you can visit her website here http://www.alicered.co.uk. The title "Dupe Fails" was reached and I think it is very fitting.

I wanted to compare two products from two brands I really like. The Nars Multiple which is probably the most famous 'all in one' products to date,  to it's intended dupe Makeup Revolution's The One Blush Stick.

I love a good dupe (if you are not familiar with the term 'dupe' it basically describes a product that has many similarities to a more expensive / higher end version.

The 'dupe' potential for the Nars Multiple had such promise & Makeup Revolution are known for cosistenly bringing out bonafied versions of many of the iconic products out there. The whole dupe concept is amazing because for some of us the likes of Nars prices are outside the realms of what we would or could comfortably pay.

When The MUR One Sticks launched I was super excited to compare a few shades with the Nars Multiples but sadly my super excitement was short lived and I am going to share why!

Who Said Three Is A Crowd? | Trio Of The Best L'Oreal Foundations

As many of you may know foundation is defiantly a keen interest of mine and I seem to be forever looking for the next best base. To me, you can never have too many foundations in your stash, after all a lot of them claim to do different things and combat varying problem areas.

I am a firm believer in choosing different foundations depending on what kind of complexion you want to achieve or what problem you want to target (anti-ageing,blemishes etc)

I know most people would finish one bottle before moving on to the next but my theory is that life is too short to limit myself to one,two or even ten foundations. So with that in mind I thought I would share three of my favourite drugstore foundations with you and it is just a happy coincidence they are all from Loreal.

Any Disney Fans Out There Wonder What Mulan's Sleeve Is Soaked In When She Removes A Full Face Of Makeup In One Swipe?

Micellar Waters seem to have exploded in popularity in the past few years and now they are the first pitt stop when it comes to removing the bulk of our slap or makeup for the non Northerner's reading I think it was Bio Derma that paved the way for the revolutionary product that now holds a firm place in most people's skincare routines and in their bathroom cabinets.

Now almost every brand and their mother have thrown their two cents in and it has become a mind-boggling task to choose between them.
To be completely honest I have been lucky/crazy enough to have tried most of them and even though I really like Micellar Water I find it not all that exciting to talk or write about.....well that was until now!

The Garnier SkinActive Oil-Infused Micellar Cleansing Water ticks all the boxes for me for a number of different reasons and I have to say it has blown all other Miceller Waters out of the water (pun intended)

The Best Lipsticks I Have Tried So Far....EVER!

Lipsticks are definitely a product I like to binge on....Shamefully they constitute about a third of my entire makeup collection, with that being said it's fair to say I have tried more than my fair share and have become quite picky when it comes to choosing favourites within my ever-growing collection.

I also have a texture and finish preference despite the brand or colour and it has to be Matte. When most people think of matte they associate it with awful lines, intense dryness and most of the time assume for it to be uncomfortable I think the matte revolution has really upped it's game and thanks to products like Cailyn Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tint and the Hourglass Opaque Rouge Collection these worries are long gone!

I am always on the hunt for intense, rich yet moisturising matte lipsticks and I have become quite accustomed to finding real gems on the drugstore and highend shelves alike.

As mentioned above lipstick is nothing I am short of and I do have a few 'loves' when it comes to the matte variety. A new edition that has become my favourite matte Lip of all time!!!! (pretty bold statement I know but totally true) is the Cailyn Pure Lust Extreme Matte Tints and to me they are the new 'it thing' I am so impressed with them that I wanted to shout their praises from the roof tops.

So want to know more?  Here are the deats!!!

Loreal Infallible Sculpt Range | The Gripes & The Glory

Anything surrounding sculpting and contouring and I am basically interested, so when Loreal launched the Infallible Sculpt collection I was desperate to try it. The launch has quite a few products including a brush but so far I have only opted for the most interesting- that being a foundation,a cream contour and a blush.

I have now tried all of these products and I am going to sum them up in a nutshell!

Soap And Glory One Heck Of A Blot | One Heck Of A Primer

Some people say primers are a bit of a gimmick and not worth investing in at all but I completely  disagree. In terms of giving a lovely base and correcting and minimising pore size I would say a decent primer is a must!

Normally I tend to opt for very glowy primers as I like a very illuminated complexion but I saw this sat at the Soap And Glory counter at Boots and the packaging charmed me and so I though I would pick it up and boy I am glad I did....

Mini Egg Easter Cake | Having A Lazy Easter

At Easter it has become somewhat of a tradition for me to either cook an epic Easter roast or bake a centre piece cake. This year I opted for the cake and I decided to recreate a recipe I saw on the Waitrose website. The cake is basically 3 layers of vanilla sponge with a soft and fluffy white chocolate buttercream, then to finish Cadbury's Mini Egg's scattered on top.

This cake is not calorie conscious or for the faint hearted, it is sweet and rich and believe me one slice is ample enough to make your tasted buds dance and sing.

So if you're like me and you fancy a little Easter baking today- here is the recipe and method I used, it's super easy and the result is quite amazing.

By Terry Cover-Expert Perfecting Fluid Foundation | A Complexion As Flawless As Fresh Milk

By Terry is normally a brand that is a little out of my price bracket, unless of course I have a special occasion or I am treating myself. I have been lucky enough to try a few of their launches but each time I go to purchase I get palpitations and sometimes I find it hard to believe how much i have just paid for something that has a shelf life.

Although their prices could lead you to having to remortgage your house (joke) you can rest in the comfort of knowing you have purchased quality. I think sometimes especially us bloggers you can get swept away with the hype of a product and purchase something on a whim that's very much a impulse buy. To quote a subscriber who recently left me a comment on one of my videos "if you buy what you love you will never regret" I think in this case those are wise words.

Magic Organic Apothecary Skincare Range

I love skincare I like to use it as my me time,  a time to relax and indulge in a bit of pampering. I recently came across a new brand which I have become particularly fond of, it was also completely by chance. I was sent my monthly Love Me Beauty Box (which is a monthly subscription service) and if you want a discount use my code natasha50.

In my package came the MOA Fortifying Green Bath Potion. It really did come to me in my hour of need as it was winter time and I had a nasty chest infection even antibiotics struggled to shift. I felt wretched, I couldn't taste and had no sense of smell, it almost wrecked my Christmas. On Boxing Day I decided to have a bath and remembered I had this bath oil, I was in no way prepared to be as blown away as I was.

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector | Champagne Pop & Moonstone

So when it comes to the highlight game I feel like I got this stuff down. Along with foundation highlighters are my favourite beauty product to play with hands down.

I love all different types and textures, I love warm tones, cool tones, cream finish powder finish. And I look for a few things, how natural it looks (I don't want to look like a glitter ball) and how long it lasts.
I have been so lucky to have tried so many that are out there Drugstore and High end but I have to say I have found the cats pyjamas when it comes to highlights & for a whole bunch of different reasons...So let's get into it.
