My Favourite Autumn Candle

Autumn is definitely my favourite time of year and it's for so many reasons. It's the time we pull on that extra layer, bare legs are replaced with 30 denier and the overall mood goes a little bit warmer despite it being a lot colder outside.

I am one that as soon as the 'embers' hit I start looking forward to Christmas and all things in between. Halloween, trick or treater's, apple crumble with comforting custard, cosy nights in by the fire and of course Bonfire Night.

For the first time in months you fire-up the old central heating, the sounds & groans it makes as the water rushes through the pipes remind you that it's getting chilly.

Not to mention the fashion, I love it when brands start to switch to their Autumn stock. Fiery orange knits, check shirts and boots are everywhere with the odd fedora hat thrown in too.

The of start of Autumn 2016 was really strange, as soon as October hit it was like someone up at season headquarters flipped a switch and the seasons clicked. The temperature dropped significantly. Starbucks relaunched their Pumpkin Spiced Latte, and the leaves started to turn golden-orange and begin to fall. It is a beautiful time of year and the perfect time to dig out your Hocus Pocus dvd for a good old sesh on the lead up to Halloween oh the nostalgia.....

I am definitely a 'home body' always the first person in the house to draw the curtains, light a candle, cook hearty meals and pull out the blanket throws.

Autumn is about creating an ambiance and speaking of candles I have a firm favourite that although costs a small fortune is the best for creating that warm glow, whilst throwing out a scent that embodies all that Autumn is.

Diptyque Baies is not only one of the most beautifully packaged candle on the planet, but it is one of  the strongest in it's scent.

The fact that the candle is Noir really, REALLY excites me. The scent of this candle is warm, rich, heavy and has a spicy note to it.

The main note I get from this is berry', juicy black berry that again is another favourite at this time of year because Autumn kicks off the baking obsession with crumbles, cakes and pies everywhere.  Baies also has a notes of leaves and a strong scent of nature and being outdoors in the cool, crisp air.

It really is the perfect accompaniment for the home and is totally worth its £55 price tag beccause the throwback of scent is incredible and it is a massive size at 300g.

It's fruity, dark, warm and rich....All the things I love about The Fall.

  1. I don't think I've ever spent so much on a candle, but it sounds heavenly! And it looks really pretty, too x
