Affordable Way To Wear High-End Perfume Seasonally | Olor Perfumes

I love to switch up my scents from season to season I think it is a great way to try different kinds of perfumes at different times of the year. In the spring I am all about the fresh, uplifting notes like mint, citrus and sea salt. When it comes to the Summer I move on to the sweeter notes so mostly floral or tropical scents, I love coconut, cucumber and of course the sweeter side of vanilla.

Autumn is when it gets a little more interesting for me, vanilla gets replaced by it's earthy, darker side  that's mixed with tobacco and smokey scents. Notes that are full of nature, leaves and richness. I then transition into Winter with spice, warmth and heavier fragrances that almost act like a blanket of comfort in the colder months.

Having such specific requirements of what scents I enjoy each season can get a little expensive, especially considering that most of my picks are quite high end. I love perfumes by Christian Dior, Diptyque, Jo Malone & Tom Ford (amongst others)

I wanted to find a way to be able to switch up my scents seasonally in a more affordable way and I came across Olor Perfumes.

Olor Perfumes are a very new company that was founded in 2016 and the basic idea behind it is that you can sample authentic, high-end perfumes at a very affordable price.

They have an impressive selection of brands and colognes to choose from, brands like Prada, Gucci, Armani and Thierry Mugler are all available to sample.

Once you see a perfume you want to try you pay a one off cost of £12.99 and a generous 8ml sample is shipped straight to your door. 8ml should last around 30 days based on 4 spritz per day but if you are buying the likes of Tom Ford or Thierry Mugler then you know one or two sprays is more than enough so they will last double the recommended time.

This whole concept sounded amazing to me, I chose two scents from the site to give the service a good test. I opted for Tom Ford's White Patchouli which costs around £100 full price and I also chose one that is a firm favourite of mine Hypnotic Poison by Christian Dior which retails for around £70.

The scents were shipped very quickly and I was so impressed by the packaging and the amount of product for the price.

Both came in separate velvet draw string bags which not only look lovely but adds a little padding whilst in transit.

Each perfume comes in a case which is interchangeable so you can choose from a selection of colours on the site. If you need to know which fragrance you are using just simply remove it from it's case to reveal the name.

I opted for a red case for my Hypnotic Poison as I wanted it too look festive and I have to say I loved it so much, the packaging looks so Christmassy and it is so well made. The product is also really compact and an ideal size and weight to pop in your bag.

You will see from the picture about that 8ml is a rather generous size and the vial can be removed from their packaging if required.

It is also worth noting that places like Tom Ford are very reluctant to give samples out because of how expensive they are so unless you go off reading the notes on the site (which is not the easiest) or off memory from trying in store it's difficult to know whether you will like it or not.

Another great benefit is that they are a spray applicator making them less wasteful than a traditional open topped sample. The spray goes completely flat when you twist and push the lid down making sure they don't spray off in your bag.

The site offers both aftershave and perfume so anyone can shop there, it is also a great way to sample fragrances that may normally be a little outside of your budget.

I also think it is a great idea for gift giving especially if you know someone like me that is bonkers about perfume.

Right now the service is UK only but the £12.99 you pay does include shipping so it really is just a one off cost.

Olor Perfumes have very kindly given me a discount code for you to get 10% off your first order which is nat10

I hope you all enjoyed this post and go on to give Olor Perfumes a try...you never know which scents you will discover, you can watch my video below to see more and get some inspiration.

  5. I am a big fan of Tom Ford Noir Extreme perfume. I am using this perfume for last one year. I bought it from a local store named BPIB. Despite of being expensive I really like this perfume. Yeah, using the sample bottle could be a affordable way to wear some expensive perfumes. Thanks for sharing this post.

  6. Fruits are another rich source of fragrant oils for perfume manufacturing. The most commonly used fruits yield their fragrance from their outer layers. orange blossoms
